What is the best scent of perfume line?
I'm looking for something feminine but not strong, I want something very mild, soft, something not overpowering but great smelling that will still get noticed.What is the best scent of perfume line?

I love the smell of vanilla although most people i know hate it, i have found that the strongest and nicest is from the body shop and it smells stronger and lasts longer if you get the purfume in the oil form and you dont need to use much of it. Why does water increase the scent of perfume?
In the past, I have felt that I have maybe sprayed my perfume on too strong but was told (and experienced myself) that if you try to wash it away with water, it will only make the smell stronger. Why is that? Why doesn't it dilute it?Why does water increase the scent of perfume?
What is happening is that when you put water on a scented surface, the scent attaches to the water. When evaporation starts, the scent is lifted by the water molecules into the air where it can be smelled more easily. Thus, while the actual concentration goes away, there is more of the perfume that you can smell in the air around you.
Thus, to ';get rid of'; the smell you need to make it so the scent cannot be smelled. Washing your face with a cleansing cream or even dirt will have the perfume bond with something much heavier than water that doesn't fly into the air for you to smell.Why does water increase the scent of perfume?

you need to pass steam throgh the petals to pick up the oil then distill this oil and water to colect it this is done in a reasonably complicated piece of glassware but it should be easily done in a school lab and the process should be easily found in a chemistry book u should probably avoid trying to make up this apparatus at home as it would be dangerous without the proper lab apparatus as pressure would build up
i know that a dried rose petal crushed and a scented oil added makes a good smelling mud sort of thing. and if you add dried, crushed up clay with it it is even cooler. you can smudge it on stuff and it will harden and smell good. i had alot of time on my hands when i was a teen ager.
they also make great tasting tea delicacy here in china

1) Find a substance that absorbs the perfume's principal chemical components, and put some close to / nearby the book in a sealed enclosure for a while (some have said baking powder, whereas a better substance may exist), or
2) Gently heat the book so that the perfume escapes from the paper faster, but not so hot that the paper / bindings / glue or plastics are affected. (e.g. not to 451 Fahrenheit, since while the paper won't burst into flame, it'll probably smoulder or blacken). I'd say you could put it in on a ceramic dish in the oven at around 80 degrees C with the door open just a crack (for a few hours). Ensure that it cools back down to room temperature before you handle it. If that doesn't work, try 90, then 100 ...

Put it in a large ziploc bag with some baking soda. Shake it up, make sure the baking soda gets between the pages. Leave it in there for a while.

Hi Girly: You know, I've bought some expensive perfumes that I thought had a nice scent to them, but when I wore them, I very seldom got compliments on them. I love the Sarah Jessica Parker ';Lovely'; perfume, but no one else seems to think much of it. Then one day, I found this body spray that had a nice fresh shower scent. It is by Calgon (take me away!) and the name is ';Morning Glory';. I found it at Walmart and it was under $10. Believe it or not, every time I wear it, someone asks me ';what are you wearing, you smell marvelous!'; I bought two spray bottles of it: one is a purse size and the other is 8 oz. for my dresser. I think you might LOVE it! What body spray scent or perfume would you recommend?
I would reccomend Pure Instincts. it's actually only sold online I think. Your can google it. I bought mine at a home party. It has pheromones in it to attract the opposite sex and smells different on everyone. Trust me you will love it and the guys/girls will love it!
Victoria's secret Love spell smells so good. It last long and the scent is a little fruity a little perfume like. Good choice.
I recommend anything rose. I know they have something like that at Wal-Mart (I'm cheap!). I'm actually going later today to get some. It really does smell good.

Do Pampers extra protection diapers have perfume (scent) in them?
My 14 month old daughter has been having some redness in the vaginal area. I am wondering if this could be caused by her night time diapers, Pampers extra protection? Also Clinique has a great range of clean, fresh scents. Try Happy, by Clinique, it is very soft and delicate.
Also Angel by Teirry Muggler, it comes in a blue star shaped bottle. The scent is soft musky vanilla, good for going out, light, but feminine.

Almost all these answers are not natural perfumes. Most all mentioned contain phathlates except demeter or possibly carols daughter (I haven't read it). I am a complete naturalist, a makeup artist and skincare specialist. I loooove the perfume line by PACIFICA. They sell them at some whole foods stores, anthropologie, amazon.com, their website http://www.pacificaperfume.com, and they are awesome! My faves are Waikiki Pikaki, Fresh Gardenia, Sandalwood and Hawaiin Ruby Guava. They are made with essential oils and grain alcohol. As for lasting I'm not sure because I carry it in my purse and spray it on myself throughout the day because it smells so good. I also wanted to try this Fairy one that is on http://www.etsy.com. They look like they would smell nice but I personally haven't used any of them from etsy yet. Good luck!
Try the Philosophy brands. Inner Grace is my favorite, it's light but lasts a long time without being overpowering. I do keep a small roll on perfume in my purse in case I'm going out at night, but even that small touch up isn't overpowering. Philosophy has a number of fragrances, so it should be easy to find one you like.

Yes, earthy scents are great and that's what you should go for. Sandalwood is my favorite. Each women has her own scent when they wear perfumes, and you are right, they should be subtle. I like it when women make a close pass and I can catch just a slight aroma, subtle yet revealing. You are going in the right direction. My favorite are the Lancomb collections. Earthy natural scents that mix well with the scent of a women.
I have only one Demeter cologne (Chocolate Chip Cookie) and it hardly lasts until I get out of the bathroom.
You could try using actuall oil extracts, although they advise against putting it on the skin without diluting, I've never had a problem. I've used patchouli oil from Tisserand lately, and it seems to last a good long time. I believe they have rose and other floral oils, too.
For perfumes, you need to get ones that have a higher level of oils in them. The oils are the ingredient in perfumes that make them last longer. More expensive, but worth it. Also, have you ever heard the Expression, ';a pig can't smell his own sh!t.';? It's kind of the same way with our perfumes. Once we get use to them on us, WE can't really smell it anymore, although you smell wonderful to everyone else!
I have used ';Beautiful'; by Estee Lauder for a long time. It is light but lasts a long time. The first time I tried it, the lady at Dillards sprayed it on a small card. One year later I found the card and you could still smell it. Give it a try.

Almost all these answers are not natural perfumes. Most all mentioned contain phathlates except demeter or possibly carols daughter (I haven't read it). I am a complete naturalist, a makeup artist and skincare specialist. I loooove the perfume line by PACIFICA. They sell them at some whole foods stores, anthropologie, amazon.com, their website http://www.pacificaperfume.com, and they are awesome! My faves are Waikiki Pikaki, Fresh Gardenia, Sandalwood and Hawaiin Ruby Guava. They are made with essential oils and grain alcohol. As for lasting I'm not sure because I carry it in my purse and spray it on myself throughout the day because it smells so good. I also wanted to try this Fairy one that is on http://www.etsy.com. They look like they would smell nice but I personally haven't used any of them from etsy yet. Good luck!
Try the Philosophy brands. Inner Grace is my favorite, it's light but lasts a long time without being overpowering. I do keep a small roll on perfume in my purse in case I'm going out at night, but even that small touch up isn't overpowering. Philosophy has a number of fragrances, so it should be easy to find one you like.

Yes, earthy scents are great and that's what you should go for. Sandalwood is my favorite. Each women has her own scent when they wear perfumes, and you are right, they should be subtle. I like it when women make a close pass and I can catch just a slight aroma, subtle yet revealing. You are going in the right direction. My favorite are the Lancomb collections. Earthy natural scents that mix well with the scent of a women.
I have only one Demeter cologne (Chocolate Chip Cookie) and it hardly lasts until I get out of the bathroom.
You could try using actuall oil extracts, although they advise against putting it on the skin without diluting, I've never had a problem. I've used patchouli oil from Tisserand lately, and it seems to last a good long time. I believe they have rose and other floral oils, too.
For perfumes, you need to get ones that have a higher level of oils in them. The oils are the ingredient in perfumes that make them last longer. More expensive, but worth it. Also, have you ever heard the Expression, ';a pig can't smell his own sh!t.';? It's kind of the same way with our perfumes. Once we get use to them on us, WE can't really smell it anymore, although you smell wonderful to everyone else!
I have used ';Beautiful'; by Estee Lauder for a long time. It is light but lasts a long time. The first time I tried it, the lady at Dillards sprayed it on a small card. One year later I found the card and you could still smell it. Give it a try.
Bath %26amp; body works has a scent it is eucalyptus %26amp; spearmint (love it) The lotion is very long lasting and it smells so fresh! (my favorite)

i stopped wearing perfume because not everyone can be around perfumes plus it gives me headaches. victoria's secret secret garden lotions smell great and they last all day. my boyfriend comments on how good i smell now that i only wear lotions.

2.) Angel For women (very very nice also)

I like my choices and have a very very keen sense of smell. My hubby says he can't smell me... I just smell ';clean.'; Well. CLEAN doesn't AROUSE a man! You have to try the scent on before you buy. The different scents will take on their own unique smell when mixed with your bodies own chemistry. What smells good in the bottle or on a tester card won't always smell good on you, or the reverse. Each perfume smells different from woman to woman, so don't go with what smells great on your best friend or a female co-worker.
Go to a perfume counter, or where ever there are tester bottles available. Talk to the woman behind the counter for suggestions. Tell her that you prefer light, clean scents. Your husband prefers stronger, more seductive perfumes. Get her to suggest which ones aren't too heavy, but still have enough fragrance to get noticed.
You'll probably have better luck with natural perfume than synthetic, i.e. florals, ambers, or Orientals, they tend to blend better on our skin. Woody, leathers, and musky scents usually smell better on men. Citrus scents are the fresher scents, probably what you are using now. They aren't that strong, or compelling.
How to test:

You have to try the scent on before you buy. The different scents will take on their own unique smell when mixed with your bodies own chemistry. What smells good in the bottle or on a tester card won't always smell good on you, or the reverse. Each perfume smells different from woman to woman, so don't go with what smells great on your best friend or a female co-worker.
Go to a perfume counter, or where ever there are tester bottles available. Talk to the woman behind the counter for suggestions. Tell her that you prefer light, clean scents. Your husband prefers stronger, more seductive perfumes. Get her to suggest which ones aren't too heavy, but still have enough fragrance to get noticed.
You'll probably have better luck with natural perfume than synthetic, i.e. florals, ambers, or Orientals, they tend to blend better on our skin. Woody, leathers, and musky scents usually smell better on men. Citrus scents are the fresher scents, probably what you are using now. They aren't that strong, or compelling.

I have curious...miss dior cherie...ckin2u...etc etc....all of which i like but for some reason NONE of the perfumes seem to last long on me! arghh...especially curious...as soon as i walk out the door it seems to disappear...ive tried squirting extra...ive tried buying parfums instead of toilettes...whats going on???

i go with things that men associate women with, light floral scents, light fruity scents, things like that. i get complimented no matter what i choose and i choose a body spray rather than a parfume most of the time. guys dont often like 2 overthink small things so a body spray is just one scent while a parfume is a mixture of scents. but if its a 2 die 4 parfume that makes u think all things female then go 4 it. i right now have guys literally sniffing me all the time and im using a morning glory body spray.

I couldn't tell you the very latest and hottest perfumes but here are some very pouplar scents that many women buy: Armani- Code, Gucci- Rush, and Gucci- Rush 2 (my personal fav), the original J.Lo- Glo (very popular among younger women), Kenneth Cole Black, Ralph Lauren- Ralph, Calvin Klein- Eternity just to name a few. Those are some of the more popular scents that MOST people like. Depending on the age, there is always the classics, Coco Chanel No. 5, The original Charlie etc... Young girls however seem to favor more fruity fun scents like Clinique Happy, Curve or Victoria's Secret sprays (eg. Pear Glace, Strawberries and Champagne). I couldn't tell you the very latest and hottest perfumes but here are some very pouplar scents that many women buy: Armani- Code, Gucci- Rush, and Gucci- Rush 2 (my personal fav), the original J.Lo- Glo (very popular among younger women), Kenneth Cole Black, Ralph Lauren- Ralph, Calvin Klein- Eternity just to name a few. Those are some of the more popular scents that MOST people like. Depending on the age, there is always the classics, Coco Chanel No. 5, The original Charlie etc... Young girls however seem to favor more fruity fun scents like Clinique Happy, Curve or Victoria's Secret sprays (eg. Pear Glace, Strawberries and Champagne). I wish I could take a poll myself and find out the answer. Happy shopping!!

Demeter scents (perfume) birthday cake or vanilla cake batter?
I have just recently discovered Demeter scents. AMAZING! They smell so realistic. I am looking for warm buttery sweet smells and didn't know wether to go wtih birthday cake or vanilla cake batter. The reviews are pretty evenly matched. I also am getting sugar cookie, and was considering choc. chip cookie, pumpkin pie, marshmallow, graham cracker, condensed milk and tiramisu.

I wear ';Goddess'; by Baby Phat in the summer and ';Poison'; in the winter (I forget who make it, it comes in a dark purple bottle)
There's cucumber melon or gardenia from bath and body works and they smell like HEAVEN! There's also some really good one's at Victoria's Secret.
