To be a perfumer (create and name perfume scents), will I need special skills and/or schooling?

Need a Chemical Engineering degree...To be a perfumer (create and name perfume scents), will I need special skills and/or schooling?
Well.. you can create anything you want at home... but you will definitely either need a degree in chemistry... or hire someone who does in order to get pass regulations... but the part about selling.. you only need a nose for scents that will sell... and great marketing. A chemical engineering degree is good but a phenomenal sense of smell is essential too.
